DAN CHAIR Nº 1 | WOOD | VINTAGE

This small chair, from the Dan people of Ivory Coast, is carefully handcrafted and carved. Traditionally , such African chairs are given by women to men after initiation ceremonies, as a symbol of their acquired social status.

The chair has a characteristic shape, low to the ground with an upright backrest.

Made of hardwood, this chair has developed a beautiful patina through use and time. It shows signs of wear and imperfections that emphasize the age of the piece and should not be considered defects. This makes it a very decorative object with a story.
